Because of all the craziness that has occurred in the capital last week, the "Tech Bros" have gone to extraordinary lengths to show their true colors. To show their allegiances to their leftist masters, both Twitter and Facebook have removed and banned the Leader of the Free World, the President of the United States from speaking on their platforms. I can understand if one doesn't like disagreeing opinions. But once tech platforms completely shut out "dissenting" voices in the aims of "enter your reason here," the end is naught.
There is only one logical outcome of all of this: The tech "giants" are sowing the seeds of their own demise. Given a free market of technology and ideas, why would anyone, regardless of their politics, choose a platform that purposefully sensors all contrarian points of view? The answer, of course, is that they wouldn't. This inevitably leads to a trend of subscribers that choose freedom, as opposed to "this platform keeps me 'safe' from things I don't like," as if we were all twelve-year olds.
None the less, the proof will be in the pudding. The Left has significantly overplayed their hand. Amazon services has removed hosting for communications App Parlor for allegedly allowing conversations between "bad" people that chose to collude in order to cause Capitol Hill violence? Maybe. It's not clear. But what IS clear, is that there was equal, if nor MORE, discussion of this taking place on Facebook and Twitter as well! So... They'll be taken "off line" as well, no doubt.
Wait.
NO??!?
A double standard? Yup. Pretty clearly so.
Most rational people can come to this conclusion themselves. So why am i writing this post? It is specifically to point out the absolutely despicable double standard that exists, and it must be confronted head on. Do i have a stake in this one way or another? Nope. This post is just a stick-in-the-sand, a time marker of sorts, to simply count down the days that the "Tech Bros" have left before they are relegated to the dust bins of history. By their own doing. They dug their own graves, and when they look back as to the reason of their demise, the free market will look back and just laugh.
