Well, my PC has been slowing as of late. It's been, oh, i'd say probably 4 years since i built it, and time and dust were taking their toll. And 4 years in computer terms is an ETERNITY. So last month, i finally decided it was time to upgrade. Yes, it was time for the ol' Alien to hop back into his/her/it's spaceship and fly back home. It was time for a new house mascot.
Originally i wanted to just upgrade a few components here and there. But since my video card was AGP and my memory was DDR, it pretty much meant a total system overhaul. But that's ok, because good ol' Uncle Sam was going to help out
So without further adoooooo, here's Johnny!

I'm happy to recommend the finest e-tailer for computer parts & accessories: NewEgg.com
They have a nicely designed website, great prices, fast shipping, and wonderful service. I've never had to send anything back to them, as it has all worked 100% out of the box, but from what i read, they are really easy to work with. Also, they have a stellar review system (1 to 5 eggs) so that you can ascertain the merits of any item for potential purchase. Their prices are the LOWEST on the web, and regularly have excellent discounts. 5 eggs for them!
In addition to the new items, there were a few parts i was able to scrounge from the Alien and put to good use in my new Centurion.
- DVD drive
- Antec NeoPower 480W power supply
- Sound Blaster Audigy2 Sound Card
- 250GB SATA Hard Drive
This all comes together to make bar-none the FASTEST PC i have ever layed my hands on. It BLAZES through benchmarks like butter. The Video Card performance is absolutely stunning, and the cost is more than perfect for the ridiculously high frame rates that i get (84 in FEAR!).

It totally annihilates the PS3 or any other silly little consoles. Muuaaaa ha ha. It is, quite simply, a thing of beauty. It does run a little hot, but hey, wouldn't you with these kind of beasts under the hood!?
Total price comes to: $935.93
Minus my 'economic stimulus check' for $600, this baby set me back a scant $336.
Now that's what i call a deal.
