The Fermi Paradox
It is said that the Universe is so vast, statistically it simply must contain some sort of other intelligent life. In fact, many people firmly believe in extra terrestrial intelligence without the slightest bit of proof. Some even spend their lives searching for little green men. Are they foolish?

It seems not. The Fermi Paradox is the counter-intuitive observation that we appear to be, in fact, alone. This discussion from a renown scientist goes through the steps as to why we should have already found signs of life elsewhere. It is purely scientific, and comes to some good conclusions. I recommend reading it.

The opposing view, of course, is one of religion. It states that there is no other life because we solely were created by God. But that would just be too easy of an argument, now wouldn’t it??
