the end of Enigma
I am 100% Polish, and darn proud of it. I recently stumbled upon Marian Rejewski, a soldier in the Polish army. He is just one of the many Polish heroes of WW2. His work was directly responsible for cracking the Enigma code. Reading about people like this gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Polska nigdy nie zginela!
Marian Rejewski (August 16, 1905 – February 13, 1980) was a Polish mathematician and cryptologist, famous for his ground-breaking, long-running work in decrypting German Enigma ciphers. His achievements jump-started British reading of Enigma in World War II ("Ultra"), and the intelligence so gained may have substantially altered the course of the war.
